Munich, 27 February 2025 - On 1 April 2025, Annette Kümmel will take over as Managing Director of Medien.Bayern GmbH and, together with Stefan Sutor, will form the new top management of the Bavarian location initiative. She succeeds Lina Timm, who is moving to RND Fortis GmbH of the Madsack publishing group.
Dr Thorsten Schmiege, President of the Bavarian Regulatory Authority for New Media (BLM) and Chairman of the Shareholders' Meeting of Medien.Bayern GmbH, welcomes the personnel decision: "Annette Kümmel is an experienced and passionate manager who will actively shape the transformation of the media industry and sustainably strengthen Bavaria as a media location. My special thanks go to Lina Timm, who has driven forward the start-up scene in Bavaria in particular."

With more than 30 years of experience as a media manager and consultant, Annette Kümmel brings extensive expertise to Medien.Bayern GmbH. She has held leading positions at ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, the industry association VAUNET, Werk1, FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and most recently at MEDIASCHOOL BAYERN. Her experience in the strategic transformation of media institutions makes her the ideal candidate for the new role.
With this change in management, Medien.Bayern GmbH is sending a clear signal for the future of Bavaria as a media location and its further strengthening as an innovative centre of the industry.
