Bavaria Film GmbH, 11 April 2025 - At its meeting on 11 April 2025, the Supervisory Board of Bavaria Film GmbH elected Jörg Schönenborn as its new Chairman. The experienced media expert and programme director of Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) will thus assume a central role in the management of the long-established company.

Schönenborn, who has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Bavaria Film GmbH since 1 March 2025, has extensive experience in the media industry. As programme director for information, fiction and entertainment at WDR, he has been a formative figure in German radio and television for many years. He is also a long-standing member of the Supervisory Board of Bavaria Fiction GmbH, a joint subsidiary of Bavaria Film and ZDFStudios, which he will continue to chair until July 2025.

With his expertise, particularly in fictional moving image production, Schönenborn is now taking over the management of Bavaria Film GmbH. He was also ARD Coordinator Fiction until the end of 2024 and has made a significant contribution to the development of the German television landscape.

The Supervisory Board of Bavaria Film GmbH is looking forward to working with Jörg Schönenborn and is convinced that he will lead the company into a successful future.
