Hanover, 22 May 2025 - Frank Doods is the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of nordmedia - Film- und Mediengesellschaft Niedersachsen/Bremen mbH. The State Secretary succeeds Dr Jörg Mielke, who chaired the board for twelve years and played a key role in shaping the company's strategic development during this time.

The change in leadership is part of the latest government reshuffle in Lower Saxony. When Olaf Lies took office as the new Minister President, Doods, previously State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, was appointed Head of the State Chancellery - a position that is traditionally also linked to the chairmanship of the nordmedia Supervisory Board.

The Managing Director of nordmedia, Meike Götz, thanked Dr Mielke for his many years of dedicated support: "He has played a decisive role in shaping the direction of nordmedia and has always been a reliable partner." At the same time, she is optimistic about the collaboration with the new chairman: "We are looking forward to the impetus that Frank Doods will bring."

nordmedia is the central funding organisation for film and media projects in Lower Saxony and Bremen. In addition to cinema and TV productions, it also supports games, web formats and cultural film projects and is one of the most important regional media funding organisations in Germany.
