Producer and screenwriter Gabriele M. Walther is honoured with the Carl Laemmle Producer Award 2025. The jury honours her great versatility, her entrepreneurial courage and her formative influence on German animated film.
Walther is the founder and managing director of Caligari Film- und Fernsehproduktions GmbH. With successful productions such as The little dragon coconut, Knight Rust and Princess Lillifee she is one of the leading voices in German animation.
Walther has also been campaigning for the promotion of women in the film and television industry for years - for example with the MEDIVA initiative she launched and her involvement in the "Female Producers Study", which highlights structural inequalities.
The prize will be awarded on 19 September 2025 at Schloss Großlaupheim. The award has been presented by the Produktionsallianz and the city of Laupheim since 2017 and honours outstanding achievements by producers in German filmmaking.
