Following her departure from ZDF Studios, Yi Qiao has moved to a new position as Commissioning Editor for international productions at ZDF. She now works in Frank Seyberth's team, which oversees international dramas and co-productions with partners such as the BBC.

Previously, Qiao was Director of Drama at ZDF Studios, where she mainly developed English-language series. In her new role, she is responsible for productions for various linear programmes and the ZDF streaming platform.

Frank Seyberth emphasises that Qiao's distribution experience is important in order to do justice to the diverse financing options and to secure international formats for the German audience. ZDF is thus preparing for the future in the streaming market, which is becoming increasingly global.
