After several years at the helm of the company, there will be a change of leadership at X Verleih: CEO and Chairwoman of the Board Leila Hamid will be stepping down next year.
Leila Hamid will assume her function as Chairwoman of the Executive Board and CEO of X Verleih AG as of 31 May 2026 to resign. This was announced by the company in an official press release. This step is being taken at the company's own request.
Hamid took over the management of X Verleih in the year 2019 and was overall around 14 years for the independent German film distributor. During this time, she was responsible for the strategic direction of the company and oversaw numerous cinema releases of national and international productions.
The Supervisory Board of X Verleih AG thanked Hamid for her many years of service and announced that the Search for a successor to have already started. Hamid will continue to fulfil her duties until her departure in May 2026 to ensure an orderly transition.
X Verleih is one of the established independent distributors on the German cinema market. The announced change in management marks a turning point for the company.
