Munich, 19 January 2026 - An important step in the German-speaking home cinema market: LEONINE Studios has taken over the physical distribution of Paramount Pictures for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the beginning of 2026. This means that LEONINE will be responsible for the distribution of DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K UHDs - both for current Paramount new releases and for the studio's extensive existing film and series portfolio.
In addition to Paramount titles, the offering also includes content from the CBS, Showtime, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and MTV brands. The well-known series and films that will be available via LEONINE in future include Mission: Impossible, Star Trek, Sonic the Hedgehog, Paw Patrol, The Godfather, Yellowstone and Dexter. The first highlights of the new sales launch include the third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Running Man as well as high-quality UHD and collector's editions of classics such as Barbarella, The Warriors and Catch Me If You Can.
Michael Meier, Head of Home Entertainment DACH at Paramount, emphasises the strategic importance of the partnership: "With LEONINE, we have found an extremely competent partner in the German-speaking region. We look forward to working together and to continuing to serve the physical home entertainment market with strong Paramount titles."
Bernhard zu Castell, Chief Distribution Officer at LEONINE Studios, adds: "We are honoured to take over the physical marketing of such a diverse and successful programme. The partnership strengthens our position as a central provider in the physical home entertainment sector and enables us to continue to inspire fans and collectors with premium content."
The acquisition strengthens LEONINE's position as a leading provider in the physical home cinema market and further expands its role as a central point of contact for film and series fans in the DACH region.
