The producer Solmaz Azizi takes over from the 1 September 2026 the management of the German branch of Zentropathe Danish production house behind films such as Nymphomaniac and The intoxication. It follows Fabian Gasmiawho has headed the Berlin branch since 2015 and will in future focus on his production company Seven Elephants will concentrate.

Azizi previously worked for four years at Studio Central where she worked on the Iranian co-production Divine Comedy which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival. She was also a member of the management team at Studio Zentral and produced award-winning series such as Made in Germany and Appropriately Angry.

The producer has extensive experience in the industry: she worked for twelve years at the Berlin International Film Festivalfounded the Berlinale Series and managed it. She then worked at YouTube Gaming and graduated from the renowned EAVE Producers Workshop.

Zentropa announces that, under Azizi's leadership, the strengthen our German market presence and to promote local productions and international co-productions. In a statement, Azizi emphasises that she wants to build a bridge between the German creative scene and Zentropa's international network.

The management of Zentropa, consisting of Louise Vesth and Sisse Graum Jørgensenemphasised that Azizi has extensive knowledge of European cinema and will enrich the theatre's future German projects both in terms of content and artistry.

Fabian Gasmia remains involved in ongoing projects, including the German co-production of Nikolaj Arcel's new feature film My Fairytale Life.
