The Berlin producer Irene Höfer is at the general meeting of the AG DOK has been elected as the new Co-Chairwoman. She succeeds Susanne Binningerwho did not stand for re-election for personal reasons.
As co-chairman David Bernet confirmed for a fourth term of office. Binninger had led the association together with Bernet for six years and will continue to represent AG DOK on the Board of Directors of the German Federal Film Board.
The newly elected board also includes producer and director Martin Hagemann as treasurer, director Chiara Sambuchi and Daniel SponselPresident of the HFF Munich. New members of the committee are director Andrea Schramm for the writing and directing section and producer Maria Wischnewski for the Production section.
As the association announced, both sections are now represented on the board by their spokespersons for the first time. The young talent initiative futurDOK will also be represented on the board by director Nele Dehnenkamp and director and producer Raphael Schanz. Alice Agneskirchner, Morgane Remter, Andreas Schroth and Valentin Thurn are no longer members of the board.
The members' meeting focussed on the current film and media policy situation. Topics included the reform of the Film Subsidies Act, structural changes in public broadcasting, cuts in state subsidies, developments in the streaming market and technological changes through AI applications.
The producer and former artistic director of IDFA gave a keynote speech, Orwa Nyrabiaon the international working conditions of documentary filmmakers. According to the association, the past financial year ended with a slight increase in membership despite difficult conditions.
