On 1 January 2024, Walid Nakschbandi became the new Managing Director of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, succeeding the long-standing Managing Director Petra Müller. Nakschbandi is moving from the Holtzbrinck Group, where he has worked for many years at national and international level, most recently as Managing Director and Chief Innovation Officer of Holtzbrinck Buchverlage. His broad range of responsibilities has enabled him to play a key role in comprehensive and pioneering transformation processes over the past decades. The representatives of the four shareholders - the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, WDR, ZDF and RTL - are convinced that Walid Nakschbandi will further expand the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW's unique position as one of the leading funding organisations in Germany and Europe.
