In the Tipi am Kanzleramt, industry representatives and politicians discussed the future of German film - with a clear focus on reforms and international competitiveness.

Minister of State for Culture Dr Wolfram Weimer called for more attention and creative freedom for the industry. His goal: an internationally competitive funding system that paves the way for German productions to reach the red carpets from Cannes to Locarno. Hamburg's Senator for Culture, Dr Carsten Brosda, also spoke out in favour of a modern funding system - including tax incentives and investment obligations for streaming services.

Michelle Müntefering, the new CEO and spokesperson of the Production Alliance's Executive Board, emphasised the importance of strong networks and a fair "level playing field".
