The representative of the association AllScreens - Film Distribution and Audiovisual Media e.V. succeeds Björn Böhning, who has moved to the Federal Ministry of Finance.

Schauerte will be supported in future by Julia Maier-Hauff (PROG - Producers of Germany), who will take over as the new Vice President. Both want to press ahead with the reorganisation of SPIO's content, which was already initiated during Böhning's short time in office.

"I would like to thank Björn Böhning for his enormous commitment and wish him all the best in his new role," explained Schauerte after the election. He announced that he would consistently continue the reform course he had embarked on and anchor the interests of the film industry more firmly in politics and business.

In addition to Schauerte and Maier-Hauff, the new Executive Committee also includes Stefan Birkenholz (FDW Werbung im Kino e.V.), Oliver Fock (Cineropa e.V.), Christoph Liedke (AllScreens) and Michelle Müntefering (Production alliance). Together, they form the organisation's six-member governing body.

The SPIO has acted as an umbrella organisation for the German film industry for decades and represents its interests vis-à-vis politicians, the media and the public.
