The French actor, director and author Alex Lutz together with its partners Hadrien Bichet and Thomas Santucci launched a new production company: Grands Ducs Films. The renowned film distributor and producer Studiocanal will work closely with the new company - a logical continuation of an already long-standing creative relationship.

Lutz, who is known for his award-winning leading role in the music film Guy who was awarded a César, wants to develop and realise his own film and series ideas with Grands Ducs Films in future. "For me, Grands Ducs Films primarily means more freedom - to realise projects that really inspire me as a writer, director and actor," explains Lutz.

The collaboration with Studiocanal is based on a series of successful joint productions, including Le Talent de mes Amis (2015), Guy (2018), Une Nuit (2023) and most recently Connemarawhich celebrated its premiere in Cannes this year. Also with the parent company Canal+ is closely associated with Lutz - for example through the cult format Catherine et Liliane (2012-2019) or the TV film La Vengeance au Triple Galop.

Anna MarshCEO of Studiocanal, praised the new company foundation as the next logical step: "We are delighted to support Alex Lutz in the foundation of Grands Ducs Films. Our collaboration with him over the years has been creative, productive and characterised by mutual trust. With this partnership, we reaffirm our goal of continuing to work closely with inspiring talent."

Lutz himself is also confident: "This new company is not only a professional milestone, but also an expression of a long-standing relationship with the Canal+ Group and Studiocanal. I would like to thank Maxime Saada and Anna Marsh for their trust - we already have many ideas in the pipeline and are looking forward to everything that is to come."

Grands Ducs Films opens a new chapter for Alex Lutz and his partners - one that combines creative independence with proven collaboration.
