With this slow progress, the targeted gender parity could not be achieved until 2047.<\/p><p data-start=\"448\" data-end=\"491\"><strong data-start=\"448\" data-end=\"491\">Slow progress despite commitment<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"493\" data-end=\"916\">The study analyses the gender distribution in six key areas of film production: directing, screenwriting, producing, cinematography, composing and editing. Although women have increasingly entered the industry in recent years, their share in these areas has remained consistently low. The low presence of women in technical positions such as cinematography (14 %) and composition (13 %) is particularly striking.<\/p><p data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"957\"><strong data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"957\">Causes of the unequal distribution<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1040\">The analysis identifies several factors that contribute to the unequal distribution:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1257\"><li data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1111\"><p data-start=\"1044\" data-end=\"1111\">A low proportion of women in the active skilled labour population.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1166\"><p data-start=\"1114\" data-end=\"1166\">Fewer allocations for active female professionals.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1257\"><p data-start=\"1169\" data-end=\"1257\">More frequent collaboration with other professionals, such as scriptwriters.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1414\">Despite these challenges, numerous initiatives and networks are committed to supporting women in the film industry and making them more visible.<\/p><p data-start=\"1416\" data-end=\"1447\"><strong data-start=\"1416\" data-end=\"1447\">Forecast: Parity not until 2047<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"1449\" data-end=\"1808\">The study predicts that with this slow progress, gender parity in European film production could not be achieved until 2047. This realisation highlights the need to break down existing barriers and take targeted measures to promote a balanced representation of women in the film industry.<\/p><p data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"1819\"><strong data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"1819\">Conclusion<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"1821\" data-end=\"2148\">Although progress has been made, gender parity in European film production remains a long-term goal.
