She succeeds Bernd Neumann, who was appointed Honorary President after more than ten years at the helm of the German Federal Film Board.<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-74b76af4 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"74b76af4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"804\">At its constituent meeting on Thursday, the Board of Directors of the German Federal Film Board (FFA) <strong data-start=\"567\" data-end=\"586\">Kirsten Niehuus<\/strong> as the new president. The long-standing managing director for film promotion at the <strong data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"721\">Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg<\/strong> thus takes over as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman's Committee.<\/p><p data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"983\">Niehuus takes over from <strong data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"855\">Bernd Neumann<\/strong> who had led the FFA since 2014. At the suggestion of the new Chairwoman, Neumann was <strong data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"972\">Honorary Presidents<\/strong> appointed.<\/p><p data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1360\">\"I am delighted about the trust placed in me, which is both an incentive and an obligation,\" said Niehuus after the election. She thanked her predecessor for his many years of commitment and emphasised the importance of cooperation within the industry. The FFA is in a decisive phase of the funding reform, the implementation of which she wants to drive forward together with the committees.<\/p><p data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1530\">To the <strong data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1400\">Deputy Chairman<\/strong> of the Board of Directors was <strong data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1451\">Dr Christian Br\u00e4uer<\/strong>, representative of the cinema associations and Managing Director of the Yorck Cinema Group.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1563\">Presidium reorganised<\/h3><p data-start=\"1564\" data-end=\"1864\">In addition to the election of Niehuus, the Board of Directors also approved the new <strong data-start=\"1631\" data-end=\"1656\">ten-member presidium<\/strong> in. It has 36 members who are delegated by the Bundestag, the Bundesrat, the BKM, film and video industry associations, television broadcasters, the German Film Academy, churches and trade unions. A <strong data-start=\"2842\" data-end=\"2876\">Gender-balanced staffing<\/strong> is a mandatory requirement.<\/p><p data-start=\"2914\" data-end=\"3206\">The election of Kirsten Niehuus marks the start of a new term of office for the FFA.
