In summer 2026, the German cinema industry will have a new forum: CineHamburg will take place in the Hanseatic city from 7 to 10 July. The event combines the previously independent formats Film Days Cologne and the Cinema Congress KINO a central meeting point for cinema and distribution professionals. The aim is to network the industry, discuss current developments and jointly provide new impetus for the future of cinema.

The associations behind CineHamburg are HDF CINEMA and AllScreenswho are sending a strong signal in favour of cooperation within the industry by combining their previous events. This pooling creates a platform where cinema operators, distributors, producers and technology experts can exchange ideas and learn from each other.

As a venue, Hamburg offers ideal conditions for this: a central location, good infrastructure and modern venues such as the Congress Centre Hamburg and the CinemaxX Dammtor enable a smooth meeting of the industry. According to representatives of Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, the new event also strengthens the city's role as an important location for the film industry and culture.

The event complements existing industry meetings such as the Filmfest Hamburg Industry Days in autumn and adds an additional opportunity for networking, discussions and further training to the annual calendar for cinema professionals. The exact programme and workshops will be announced in the coming months.

With CineHamburg, a new, central meeting place is being created that will have a lasting impact on the German cinema landscape - a date that industry representatives can already make a note of.
