This development has far-reaching consequences - including for the German market.<\/p><p data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"989\"><strong data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"557\">From prestige to sustainability<\/strong><br data-start=\"557\" data-end=\"560\" \/>In recent years, first-window deals have been the dominant instrument in the competition between streaming platforms. Large sums were paid for exclusive first exploitation rights, often regardless of how sustainable these investments were. However, this dynamic is losing momentum. Platforms are acting more cautiously, budgets are being used more efficiently and the pure \u201epremiere value\u201c of a film is being scrutinised more critically.<\/p><p data-start=\"991\" data-end=\"1272\">Instead, second-window analyses and library rights are taking centre stage. Producers, distributors and world sales organisations traditionally work with complex rights exploitation models. Money continues to flow into content, but is distributed in a more differentiated way over its entire life cycle. Success is measured less by a single launch moment and more by the ability to utilise content commercially over a period of years.<\/p><p data-start=\"3226\" data-end=\"3451\">For industry observers and market participants in Germany, this results in a clear task: their own strategy must be more strongly focussed on sustainability, rights flexibility and intelligent evaluation chains.<\/p><p data-start=\"3453\" data-end=\"3783\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong data-start=\"3453\" data-end=\"3462\">Conclusion<\/strong><br data-start=\"3462\" data-end=\"3465\" \/>The era of overheated first-window deals seems to be over for the time being. They are being replaced by a more balanced model in which later exploitation phases play a central role.
