Prime Video is losing two long-serving executives in the German market: following the departure of Philip Pratt, Head of German Originals, Andreas Hartmann, Head of Content for Prime Video DACH, has also announced his departure. Both played a key role in building and developing Amazon\u2019s streaming business in Germany over the years.<\/p>

Philip Pratt is leaving Amazon MGM Studios after around eleven years with the company. Since 2018, as Head of German Originals \u2013 initially at Prime Video and later at Amazon MGM Studios \u2013 he has been responsible for the development of German original productions. Under his leadership, successful programmes such as \u201eMaxton Hall\u201c, \u201eLOL: Last One Laughing\u201c and \u201eDie Discounter\u201c were created, which played a key role in raising the profile of German Amazon Originals.<\/p>

Pratt announced via his social media channels that, after more than a decade at Amazon, he had decided to move on and take on a new professional challenge. His role as Head of German Originals is to be filled by a new appointee.<\/p>

Shortly afterwards, Andreas Hartmann also announced his departure. Hartmann had been with Amazon since 2013 \u2013 initially at Lovefilm and later at Prime Video \u2013 and, most recently, as Head of Content for Prime Video DACH, was responsible for areas including licensing and co-productions.<\/p>

In his farewell statement, Hartmann looked back on the development of Prime Video in Germany and described the past few years as a formative period for him and the industry. Following his departure, he plans to take some time out for the time being. His position is also set to be filled by a new appointee.<\/p>

These two departures mark a significant change in personnel within Amazon\u2019s German streaming organisation. Both the in-house productions division and the content strategy for the DACH market will be under new leadership in future. Production companies, rights holders and co-production partners will therefore have to wait and see what strategic direction the new managers will take.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t
