The economic outlook for technical and creative service providers in the German film and television industry remains challenging. According to the latest Autumn Barometer from the Association of Technical Services for Film and Television (VTFF), 93.8 per cent of the companies surveyed expect further market consolidation over the next two years. Last year, the figure stood at 89.7 per cent.<\/p>

Whilst 37.5 per cent of companies rate their own business situation as good or very good, only 25 per cent expect turnover to rise by 2027, whilst 75 per cent anticipate stagnating or falling revenues. When asked to identify their biggest challenges, 89.6 per cent cited cost pressure from clients and 81.3 per cent cited a decline in new orders.<\/p>

The association also takes a critical view of the reliability of film funding. 60.4 per cent of those surveyed fear that fluctuating funding conditions will cause lasting damage to Germany as a production location. 47.9 per cent expect productions to be relocated abroad more frequently or cancelled altogether due to this uncertainty. The debate over the funding of public service broadcasting is also a cause for concern: 64.6 per cent expect that any significant cuts would have negative consequences for production volumes and the order books of service providers.<\/p>

VTFF Managing Director Achim Rohnke sees the results as a warning sign. The association is calling for reliable funding conditions and a competitive operating environment in order to safeguard Germany\u2019s technical and creative capabilities as a production hub in the long term.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t
