Dr Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of HamburgHelge Albers significantly strengthens the local film scene with his extensive knowledge of the industry, his wealth of ideas and his innovative spirit. He and the film funding team have been able to celebrate great successes for film in the north in recent years. We want to continue this very productive collaboration with Helge Albers over the next five years and constructively develop the location even during the film policy upheavals planned by the federal government. The extension of Helge Albers' contract as Managing Director of MOIN Film Funding is great news for Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein as a film and media location."

Karin Prien, Minister of Culture of the State of Schleswig-HolsteinI am delighted that Helge Albers will continue to hold the fate of film funding for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein in his hands. In turbulent times, this is an important signal of continuity and stability for the film industry. His holistic approach and keen eye for future challenges in the film and media industry strengthens Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein as a location and positions MOIN Film Funding as an innovative and pioneering funding institution."

Helge Albers, Managing Director of MOIN Filmförderung"It fills me with pride to continue to stand by the film and media industry in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein as a partner in these challenging times. Over the past few years, we as the MOIN team have already been able to emphasise a few things to make our work less bureaucratic and the funding region fit for the future. I am very much looking forward to working with my team and the local industry to achieve a great deal over the next five years - we still have a lot planned!"

Helge Albersborn in 1973, has been Managing Director of MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein since April 2019. As a producer, he won the German Film Award in 2001 for "Havana, Mi Amor" and in 2016 for "Above and Below". His other successes include "Full Metal Village" about the Wacken Festival as the most successful documentary film in 2007 and the Oscar-nominated short film "Ave Maria". His experience as a producer, managing director of the VDFP (now Producers' Association), as a member of the FFA's awards committee and advisor to the World Cinema Fund ultimately led him to Germany's northernmost film funding organisation.
