A serendipitous and peculiar encounter between a man and woman at a black tie event on vacation in Capri, Italy leads to a mysterious search to find one another again. Having no idea what he looks like, the woman is forced to search for a man who is reluctant to approach her again knowing that she is married, and so is he. The only hint the woman has of the man are the black patent shoes he wore the night of the party, while the the man remembers her clearly and can't stop thinking about her. Dissatisfied with their respective marriages, they romanticize that the other embodies everything they've been missing in their life.
