Historical film, 2x90 minutes/ 4x45 minutes. In San Francisco, at the time of the gold rush, Levi Strauss, son of a peddler from Upper Franconia, becomes one of America's first industrial pioneers. Despite numerous professional and private strokes of fate, he invents together with Jacob Davis, a tailor from Riga, invented blue jeans. Both were discriminated against in their home country because of their country on account of their Jewish origins, and together they manage to create one of the best known and most popular garments in the world.
