Dr. Chris Wegner (Simon Schwarz) works with a self-taught "expert": The 28-year-old pension landlord Jonas Becker (Paul Boche) cares intensively for his sister Juli (Charlotte Lorenzen), who suffers from cystic fibrosis. When a dangerous lung transplant is due, the 19-year-old hesitates: she wants to live in the now - no matter how long it will be! While Jonas and Chris see the medical urgency, the supply assistant Vicky (Jessica Ginkel) realises what it is really about for the patient: self-determination! It is also important for Vicky to decide freely about her pregnancy. Vicky can count on her boyfriend Leon (Janek Rieke), her daughter Kim (Carlotta von Falkenhayn), her brother Georg (Barnaby Metschurat) and his partner Djamal (Harun Yildirim). However, she must finally come to terms with a trauma from her time as a young mother.
