Romy Heiland is surprised by a search of her law firm: senior public prosecutor Dr Tümmler accuses her of embezzling client funds - and soon: money laundering (!). Romy knows that Tümmler should not be an adversary and has no idea of the dilemma she is creating for Tümmler, who sympathises with her. Ben takes over her defence. Is the weak point in the firm perhaps Tilly, who has made a mistake? Romy has little time to adjust to the new situation, as another drastic change in her life is about to take place, which she finds out about by chance: Her family is bigger than she thought - she has a sister, Serafina (Jane Chirwa). Karin has a lot to explain to Romy; she is alone in this, as Paul has been living abroad for some time. Tilly Vogel and Ringo Holländer, who now has a permanent place in the law firm team, provide stability in Romy's professional life.
