Vienna 1989: Journalist André Müller, known for his radical interviews with celebrities, travels to his native city to conduct an interview with his mother that is to be published in a major weekly newspaper. In a desperate struggle, he tries to finally break the silence and wrest from his mother the secrets of her and his life, which are closely linked to the Austrian-German history of the 20th century.
