The drama series in six parts of 30 to 45 minutes each tells the story of Marion, a woman at the lower end of society. For the first time in her life, she leaves her poor surroundings in a large West German city to take up an inheritance in a small East German town. In the course of the story, Marion changes from a disillusioned person, afraid of everything foreign, to an open, powerful personality. But the shadows of her past catch up with her again. (NRW)
