After 140 episodes in eleven years, "Morden im Norden" gets its first feature film. In the TV film "Morden im Norden - Am Abgrund", Chief Inspector Finn Kiesewetter (Sven Martinek) is investigated internally after a fatal operation. Finn shot an armed hostage-taker in a multi-storey car park as an emergency measure. In doing so, he saved the life of his friend and colleague Lars Englen (Ingo Naujoks), who had been caught in the line of fire. But when the hostage (Maja Juric) testifies that the perpetrator had already surrendered, the inspector is suspended from duty. Finn is threatened with a charge of manslaughter.
