Katarzyna (23), a young Polish woman, comes to Junkersdorf, a small town in the middle of the countryside. There she starts working in a restaurant as a waitress. With the money she earns, she wants to start a new life in Poland. Contrary to expectations, she quickly settles into the foreign environment. We walk through the town by the hand of this quiet and self-determined woman, we look at the people there through her eyes.
Katarzyna makes contact with Helene (85), who had to flee Silesia as a little girl, and Bruno (35), a carpenter who would have liked to become a musician. More and more, her presence in the village evolves from a mere working stay to a time-out from her previous routines.
Away from her familiar surroundings, she has the first opportunity to reflect on her life and her future. (Crew United)
