After their husbands are killed, two twenty-something American women become the first female CIA operatives in 1977 Moscow. Bea is an intellectual Jewish girl from New England, fluent in Russian. Twila grew up poor and scrappy near a military base in the South and knows how to survive by any means necessary. Together they work covertly to run a Soviet spy, uncover a vast Cold War conspiracy and solve the mystery of their husbands' deaths.
