The body of a young man hangs between the bars of a bicycle stand, a seat post protruding from his chest. Among the onlookers, Jule Zabek (Sophie Pfennigstorf) notices a young woman, Alfi von Stenz (Maja Bons), who is watching the scene of the crime in a state of shock. When Jule wants to speak to her, she flees and later denies having anything to do with the murder. She had merely had a friendly glass of wine with the former classmate. Although Alfi is not without suspicion, the detectives let her go in the hope of being able to shadow her. However, Tomasz Nowak (Jakub Gierszal), Jule's new colleague, fails to follow her and Alfi disappears. While Jule researches her background, Hidde (Alexander Held) tries to find a clue to a motive for the murder from the dead man's boss.
When Jule and Tomasz are investigating at Alfi's workplace, the Zappelfisch restaurant, Tomasz and a gang led by the restaurant's manager, Tim "Butscher" Busch (Julius Nitschkoff), get into an argument. Back at the police station, Hidde brings his colleagues up to speed on who they are dealing with. The "Knieper Jungschen" are a family-like "protective association" that was founded in the 1990s in the prefabricated housing estate Knieper West and is now respected as a charitable group of companies in Stralsund's business community. The police find out that the "Knieper Jungschen" are involved in business with a sinister force that none of them can control.
