23/5 Filmproduktion wurde im April 2004 von Regisseur und Autor Hans-Christian Schmid gegründet. 2005 kam die Produzentin Britta Knöller dazu. 23/5 stellt wenige, dafür herausragende Spiel- und Dokumentarfilme für den Einsatz im Kino und Fernsehen her. Neben Filmen von Hans-Christian Schmid (u.a. REQUIEM, STURM, WAS BLEIBT, DAS VERSCHWINDEN) sind das auch Projekte anderer Autor*innen und Regisseur*innen (z.B. AM ENDE KOMMEN TOURISTEN, LA LISIÈRE, ATLAS). Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der gründlichen Entwicklung anspruchsvoller Stoffe für ein breites Arthouse-Publikum.

The main focus is set on thorough script development, aiming to reach significant cinema and television art-house audiences.
