Prime Video increases the number of German projects for its anniversary

Prime Video celebrated its tenth anniversary in Berlin with a look at the programme for 2024/2025. The company announced numerous new projects, including series, documentaries and reality formats.

The tenth anniversary of Prime Video was celebrated in Berlin, with insights into the programme for 2024/2025. Despite increased prices and the introduction of advertising, Prime Video appears to be a success for Amazon in Germany. The company has made significant investments in recent years, including the broadcasting rights for the Champions League and soon Wimbledon. Christoph Schneider, Country Director of Prime Video Germany and Austria, emphasised the development of the streaming service since it was founded ten years ago. At a screening called "Prime Video Presents", numerous new projects were presented to demonstrate a broader genre selection and a focus on the mainstream.

The event attracted around 400 guests, including producers and creatives. Prime Video relies on well-known names, including Anke Engelke, Bastian Pastewka, Elyas M'Barek and others, to appeal to its audience. The company announced twelve new productions in Berlin, including documentary productions, a food reality show called "Star Kitchen with Tim Raue" and a series called "Lights Out", in which celebrities have to spend 120 hours in the dark. Not only fictional but also non-fictional content plays a major role, including a "Dinner for One" sequel called "Dinner for Five" and the documentary series "German Cocaine Cowboy".

The portfolio of new projects also includes an anti-war film called "The Tiger", the series "Dinner Club" with Swiss 3-Michelin star chef Andreas Caminada and the series "Drunter und Drüber", which is set in a cemetery. Other projects include the mockumentary series "Gerry Star", the documentary series "Kill My Doppelgänger", the documentary reality show "The Desert Dream" and the erotic thriller "Un/Dressed".
