Ringel Film was founded in 2011 by producer Gian-Piero Ringel and his business partner Wim Wenders. The company was initially registered as Neue Road Movies Zweite GmbH and was renamed in 2016. Ringel Film renamed. Since then, Gian-Piero Ringel has been the sole owner and managing director. Together with Wim Wenders, he founded Neue Road Movies GmbH in 2006 and was managing partner there for 10 years. In addition to his membership of the European, British and German Film Academies, Ringel is a board member of the Guild of German Producers, where he oversees innovation initiatives. He is also co-founder of the FilmTech Office, a co-working space for creatives and entrepreneurs from the fields of film, storytelling and technology.
