The Starhaus Filmproduktion GmbH was founded by Rainer Kölmel in 1994 under the name Kinowelt Filmproduktion. Between 2003 and 2013, it was a 100% subsidiary of Starhaus Produktionen GmbH in Munich. Following the sale of Kinowelt to Studiocanal in 2008, the name was changed to Starhaus Film Production changed. In 2010, Wasiliki Bleser took up the position of Managing Director alongside Rainer Kölmel. Since October 2013, she has been a partner and sole managing director of the Starhaus Film Production. Rainer Kölmel remains actively involved in the day-to-day business of the company.
