Process-orientated vs. project-orientated corporate structures

Many people associate compliance with unrealistic, de facto unenforceable regulations from large companies due to their personal experiences. The idea of compliance is actually based on a liability release strategy for managers. In process-orientated companies, centrally created guidelines are regularly checked for their practicality and continuously improved. In project-orientated companies, as is the rule in the creative industries, implementation and DIN/ISO standards regularly fail, cause frustration and ultimately miss their target. Due to the increasingly harsh penalties for decision-makers, commissioning broadcaster decision-makers, such as editors and EPLs, and project participants, such as production management and film management, are now personally liable alongside producers and production management. The few, but steadily increasing number of cases in which this group of people is held responsible unfortunately usually end with criminal consequences or personal liability.
