Shooting starts on the new feature film Zwischen den Zeilen (AT)

The feature film "Zwischen den Zeilen" (working title) is currently being made in Hamburg and the surrounding area as well as in Sankt Andreasberg (Lower Saxony) by the editorial team of Das kleine Fernsehspiel. The film tells the love story of blind Florian (David Knors) and deaf Kati (Cindy Klink). The two main characters and other supporting roles were authentically cast with blind and deaf people, some of whom have little or no acting experience. The film is directed by Milan Skrobanek, who wrote the book together with Eibe Marleen Krebs.

Florian, who would actually like to live on unemployment benefit, is forced to take a job at Dialoghaus Hamburg. He meets the good-humoured, ambitious Kati, who has been working there with great dedication for a long time. Both are attracted to each other, and their disabilities only stand in their way at first. They quickly find communication strategies that work, such as various mobile phone apps and the Lorm alphabet (alphabet for deafblind people). But as a couple, the two repeatedly clash due to their fundamentally different backgrounds and Florian's emotionally unapproachable personality. When Florian is contacted by his estranged brother Michael (Wolf Danny Homann), who informs him that his father, whom Florian hates, is dying, he can no longer control his emotions. In the midst of his boiling emotions, he repeatedly pushes Kati away, which ultimately leads to their separation. Nevertheless, Kati accompanies him to his father's funeral on Sylt. It is only when Florian reconciles with his brother that he realises what he has lost with Kati and tries to win her over again.

"Zwischen den Zeilen" is a production of Curlypictures with ZDF/Das kleine Fernsehspiel, funded by Nordmedia, MOIN Filmförderung and DFFF.

The producer is Henriette Ahrens, producer Ole Hellwig, co-producer Andrea Schütte, co-producers Dirk Decker (TamTam Film) and Jan Krüger (Port au Prince Pictures GmbH). The film is edited by Melvina Kotios (ZDF/Das kleine Fernsehspiel).
