Dr Eckart Gaddum will take over as head of ZDF's main editorial department for business, law, service, social affairs and the environment (HR WIRSSUM) on 1 November 2024. The department includes the ZDF editorial offices WISO, Environment and Business Documentaries, Law and Justice and Service täglich.

Eckart Gaddum has been head of ZDF's main editorial department for digital media since 2008, which is responsible for the ZDFmediathek and the overall management of the online process, among other things. The experienced journalist and programme manager has consistently driven forward the expansion of the ZDFmediathek, which continues to set standards - most recently with the broadcaster's open source initiative. Thanks to his expertise, Gaddum will continue to oversee the open source project and the expansion of the joint streaming network with ARD in his new role.

At the turn of the year, ZDF's main editorial department for digital media will merge with ZDF's main programme planning department to form a new division, which will be responsible for the planning and distribution of all programme content across all playout channels.

Susanne Biedenkopf-Kürten, the current head of ZDF's WIRSSUM main editorial office, will take over as head of ZDF's Hesse regional studio in Wiesbaden on 1 November 2024. The current head of the ZDF regional studio in Wiesbaden, Peter Wagner, will move to the ZDF headquarters in Mainz on the same date.
