The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and Rogers have announced that Rogers will be the headline sponsor of the 49th Festival and the prestigious TIFF People's Choice Awards.
The partnership will kick off with a VIP event at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, an official hospitality partner, on Tuesday, 3 September, where the red carpet will be rolled out and the origins of TIFF in Toronto's Yorkville district will be celebrated. The 49th edition of the festival will take place from 5 to 15 September 2024.
"Rogers and TIFF not only share deep roots in our hometown - we also share a commitment to building a rich legacy in Canadian culture and entertainment, which we are pleased to celebrate by welcoming Rogers as the first major sponsor of this year's festival," said Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF. "Rogers is involved in all aspects of the industry, and their partnership strengthens our ability to celebrate a broader range of stories. With Rogers on board, we look forward to an immersive and memorable experience for festival-goers as we approach the celebration of our 50th anniversary."
"As Canada's leading communications and entertainment company, we are proud to partner with TIFF this year to showcase the best films and entertainment from Canada and around the world," said Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Rogers. "TIFF is one of the best film festivals in the world, and we're proud to support it and connect more Canadians with the best content and experiences."
Rogers customers will enjoy access to VIP experiences at festival screenings and other exclusive events as part of the new national "Rogers Beyond the Seat" programme, which offers premium sports and entertainment experiences for Rogers customers across the country.
The Toronto International Film Festival presented by Rogers will celebrate and spotlight the best in international and Canadian film and entertainment for 11 days. In addition to screenings, the festival offers unique in-person opportunities including live Q&As after screenings, the "In Conversation With..." series, a five-day industry conference, the free, family-friendly Festival Street, and the prestigious awards including the Tribute Awards, the TIFF People's Choice Awards, presented by Rogers, and the Jury Awards.
