RTL Group has published its figures for the first half of the year, showing positive revenue figures and further growth in its streaming services.

According to the company, total revenue rose by 1.8 per cent to EUR 2,872 million, primarily due to higher TV advertising revenue and significantly higher streaming revenue. However, lower sales at Fremantle from the production business dampened overall growth.

While TV advertising revenues increased by 4.7 per cent to €1,093 million, revenues in the content business of RTL Group, Fremantle, fell to €957 million in the first half of the year. According to RTL Group, this was mainly due to market developments and timing effects, which were partially offset by the first-time full consolidation of Asacha Media Group at the end of March 2024.

Due to a significantly higher number of paying subscribers, higher prices in Germany and growth in advertising revenue at M6+, streaming revenue rose by a significant 41.9 per cent to EUR 185 million.
