BBC Studios has started filming the ZDFneo series "Chabos"

How can it be that Peppi was the only one of his year not to be invited to the class reunion? In the eight-part ZDFneoriginal "Chabos" (working title), Peppi (Johannes Kienast) travels into the past of his 16-year-old self in 2006 in order to understand who he really is.

His self-image crumbles as a result of his marginalisation. Was he not one of the cool kids after all? Offended, he hastily sets off to visit his parents in his old home town of Duisburg to find out who wanted to exclude him and what it was all about. The encounter with his youth clique, the "Chabos", quickly makes him realise that he has much more to deal with than the mystery of the non-invitation.

On a second time level, a nostalgia trip to the pre-smartphone era of the 2000s, Peppi's experiences with his clique, his first love, the tensions in his family and his greatest youthful sins are told. Peppi is relentlessly confronted with his past and learns to understand the boy he was and the man he has become.

Other roles include Nico Marischka, Anke Engelke, Peter Schneider, Olga von Luckwald, David Schütter, Paula Kober, Arsseni Bultmann, Max Mauff, Lea Pietsch, Loran Alhasan, Erol Afsin, Jonathan Kriener, Alexander Milo, Mathilda Smidt, Arina Prokofyeva, Nairi Hadodo, Bahar Balci and Maximilian Raffelt. With cameos by Sabrina Setlur, Jeanette Biedermann, Mola Adebisi and Domian, among others.

The series is currently being filmed in the Cologne and Duisburg area, based on scripts by Arkadij Khaet and Mickey Paatzsch, who are also directing. Writersroom: Mickey Paatzsch, Arkadij Khaet, Juri Sternburg and Anna Dimitrova. Nikolaus Schreiber is in charge of the camera. "Chabos" is produced on behalf of ZDF by BBC Studios Germany (Producer: Eva Holtmann, Executive Producers Lea Gamula, Nina Sollich). The series is inspired by the BBC original "Ladhood". Kristl Philippi is the ZDF editor, Christiane Meyer zur Capellen is the responsible ZDFneo coordinator.
