With eight new cases for the Munich police team, the 49th season of the ZDF long-running hit "Der Alte" is being produced in the metropolis on the Isar under the direction of Elke Hauck, Herwig Fischer, Axel Barth and Eva Marel Jura.

Thomas Heinze as Chief Inspector Caspar Bergmann, Stephanie Stumph as Inspector Annabelle Lorenz, Yun Huang as IT expert Julia Lulu Zhao, Sidonie von Krosigk as forensic scientist Dr Luisa Geiger, Lena Meckel as Bergmann's daughter Johanna and Marie-Sophie Schmidt as granddaughter Aurelia are once again in front of the camera.

The new episodes are expected to be broadcast at the beginning of 2025.
