International TV veteran Rola Bauer is stepping down from her position as head of English-language global original series produced outside the US at Amazon MGM Studios. The departure is amicable and was initiated by Bauer herself. Bauer, an experienced producer and creative executive, joined MGM in 2020 as President of International TV Production. Following the acquisition of MGM by Amazon in 2022, her remit changed and she focused on so-called "Pan-English Global Originals" - projects produced in English but outside the USA, particularly event series that can be easily distributed in different countries and cultures.

As Amazon and MGM continue to adjust the corporate structure and strategy, Bauer decided to return to production and business development. Her team will be integrated into the larger Amazon Studios structure. Bauer will oversee the transition and oversee the launch of the first projects from her group. She is expected to officially step down in the first quarter of next year.
