UFA is planning to expand its activities in Hungary and has therefore appointed a new management team for its Hungarian production subsidiary. UFA CEO Sascha Schwingel appointed Ute Biernat and Emese Ács as managing directors of UFA Produkció which previously operated under the name UFA Magyarország was trading under the new name. The renaming is intended to emphasise the reorientation and expansion of the company.
In future, UFA Produkció will increasingly focus on the production of non-fictional entertainment formats and would also like to develop its own formats. The company plans to expand its activities beyond the Hungarian market and serve as a production hub for international partners.
Emese Ács, Managing Director, emphasises that UFA Produkció is already established in Hungary and is now increasingly focusing on in-house developments. Ute Biernat sees the reorganisation as a step towards a stronger international focus and as an opportunity to offer cost-efficient, high-quality productions.
The history of UFA Produkció dates back to 1997, when it produced the first Hungarian daily series for commercial television. Since 2015, the company has successfully produced non-fiction formats such as "X-Factor", "The Voice" and "Masked Singer". In 2024, UFA Produkció is producing seven shows for RTL Hungary, TV2 and Antenna Entertainment.
