On 8 November 2024 in Berlin, the Respect Code Film (RCF) an industry-wide agreement for respectful and safe working conditions in film and television production. The code was developed by the Produktionsallianz, ver.di and the Bundesverband Schauspiel (BFFS) in cooperation with ARD, ZDF, Netflix and other important institutions.

The RCF sets clear principles against disrespectful behaviour, harassment, discrimination and violence on set and guarantees a respectful working environment. This includes not only the production itself, but also preparatory phases such as castings and accompanying events such as premiere celebrations or business trips. Employers are responsible for compliance with these principles and must ensure that they are adhered to.

The initial signatories include representatives from Produktionsallianz, ver.di, BFFS, ARD, ZDF and other organisations. The code ensures that respectful behaviour is set as a standard and provides a point of contact for those affected by misconduct.

The RCF is on the Website of the Production Alliance for download available.
