The US-American director, screenwriter and producer Todd Haynes will be President of the International Jury of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. Berlinale Director Tricia Tuttle comments: "Todd Haynes is a gifted screenwriter and director with an impressive range - his work is stylistically diverse, but also unmistakable. Since his debut film Poison (1991) with the TEDDY AWARD, the Berlinale has followed and loved his film work. We are overjoyed to have him as President of the International Jury for our 75th edition."

According to Press Release Todd Haynes has been one of the most courageous and distinctive filmmakers in American cinema for nearly 40 years, recognised for his sensitivity in exploring the inner worlds of outsiders and women, and for his fascinating investigations into gender and identity.

His ability to create complex characters has attracted many of the world's best actors. Stars such as Julianne Moore, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Christian Bale and Ewan McGregor have played the multi-layered characters in his films. Todd Haynes' films and their actors have been honoured at numerous international film festivals.
