With the start of the new funding year, the German Federal Film Board (FFA) is introducing a modern, digital application system. The FFA service portal offers a paperless and unbureaucratic way to submit and process applications. The prerequisite for use is registration, which is now possible. here is possible. The FFA recommends early registration, as it can take several days to check the master data and activate an account.
"The new service portal is an important milestone on our way to becoming a service-oriented FFA," emphasises FFA Executive Director Peter Dinges. "We are delighted that we will soon be able to process funding applications completely digitally. With this step, we are setting standards for modern and sustainable film funding." In addition to the internal challenges and the reform of film funding at federal level, the portal is one of the FFA's central projects.
Current funding recipients as well as future applicants and companies must register in the service portal and enter their master data in order to use the system. Detailed instructions on how to register are available online. Once activated, funding applications can be submitted in various areas such as preliminary costs, production, distribution or minimum guarantees, among others. Here you can find a complete Overview of the different areas.
Funding applications that have already been submitted and ongoing administrative procedures will be gradually transferred to the new portal. In future, it will also be possible to submit additional documents, query the processing status or apply for deadline extensions via the digital system. In addition, all approval notices will be made available directly via the service portal in future.
With the launch of the portal, the FFA is focusing on the efficient and forward-looking digitalisation of film funding. "The FFA is fit for the digital funding future," says Dinges.
