Tony Chambers has been appointed President of The Walt Disney Company, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). This is part of a restructuring to harmonise the company's global strategy. Mr Chambers will report to Disney Entertainment Co-Chairmen Alan Bergman and Dana Walden and ESPN's Jimmy Pitaro. The previous EMEA President, Jan Koeppen, will step down in February 2025 after six years in office.
In the new structure, various business units in EMEA will report directly to the global managers. Mr Chambers will be responsible for regional coordination and will represent Disney in EMEA.
The management praised both Chambers for his experience and leadership qualities and Koeppen for his successes, particularly with the introduction of Disney+ in the region. A new global head of cinema distribution will be appointed soon.
