Leading arthouse sales agency The Match Factory, part of Mubi, has appointed Agathe Valentin as Sales Director, a newly created position. The agency is gearing up for the Sundance Film Festival, where it will present the films Magic Farm by Amalia Ulman and All That's Left of You by Cherien Dabis, as well as the Berlinale, where several films will be presented. Valentin, who is relocating to Brussels, will report directly to Thania Dimitrakopoulou, VP of International Sales, and will play a key role in expanding the agency's international reach.
Valentin brings almost two decades of experience in the film industry and has held senior positions at Les Films du Losange, Pyramide and Totem Films, among others. Most recently, she was sales director at HanWay Films. Dimitrakopoulou commented on Valentin's hire, saying that her expertise and passion for cinema will be crucial to the agency's growth.
The Match Factory's current programme includes, among other things Grand Tour by Miguel Gomes and The Girl With the Needle by Magnus Von Horn, both of which were recognised at international festivals.
