Sony Group has announced changes to its management structure that will come into effect on 1 April 2025. Hiroki Totoki will become the new President and CEO, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida, who will assume the role of Chairman. This change in leadership was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors following a consultation with the Nomination Committee.
In addition to this change, Sony will reorganise its management structure to more clearly define responsibilities within the Group. New titles such as "Business CEO" for the heads of major business divisions, "Chief Officer" for senior executives taking on wide-ranging functions, and "Corporate Executive" for managers at the corporate headquarters have been introduced. Several new executives were appointed, including Toshimoto Mitomo as Chief Strategy Officer and Yasuhiro Ito as Chief People Officer.
Kenichiro Yoshida emphasised the importance of this succession for Sony's long-term growth and praised Totoki's leadership in implementing key strategies. Totoki expressed his honour to assume the role of CEO and presented a vision that focuses on Sony's diversity, creativity and innovation. The Board expressed confidence in Totoki's leadership and looks forward to his continued efforts to guide Sony's growth.
