The ZDF is continuing its commitment to German cinema and renewing its voluntary support for the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and its direct investments in joint cinema productions. This funding is based on the 15th film/television agreement now signed between ZDF, ARD and the FFA. In 2024, ZDF will provide a total of 7.8 million euros in the form of cash benefits, media services and funds for joint productions.

According to Press Release ZDF is thus going beyond the mandatory film levy anchored in the German Film Subsidy Act, which obliges public broadcasters to pay three per cent of the costs incurred for the broadcasting of feature films in the year before last.
